It will tell you what it wants to be.Over the years, we've had a few retail shops and have learned that each one is a little different. Though one might begin with a grand scheme, the space itself will tell you what it wants to be. |
We started out as a gallery of art and fine craft. Sticks and Stones furniture and Shaky Ground Tile were the mainstays. But the space did not seem content with this choice. We kept hearing a voice, "Fill it with books and they will come." It isn't a good idea to ignore that sort of thing. |
Now, we have books. We're small, but earnest, and we're growing. We still have some furniture and a sprinkling of art and fine craft, but books are our focus. Please visit. You can call first if you don't want to take a chance that we won't be open. We want to be your favorite quirky bookstore and hope you'll enjoy, or excuse, our eccentricities. |

We Are the Stories We Tell Ourselves
Whether we read fiction or non-fiction, cruise the Internet, read nothing and watch television, or just gossip with friends, the stories and ideas that we are exposed to shape how we see ourselves, how we view others, and how we act in and upon the world. Books are important. Books transcend time and place, offer to build our spirits, give information, provide amusement, culturally enrich us, challenge our world-view, preserve history, and open us to a universe of possibilities. The reader collaborates with the writer by reading. If you read, you have the key to unlock the power that is in every book. Claim that power. READ!
